Database Templates

Whether you launch a Teradata Database instance on AWS separately using the CloudFormation option or as part of a Teradata Ecosystem, the instance is based on a template. Templates contain the information and configuration options to create a Teradata Database single-node instance or a Teradata Database MPP instance (up to 64 nodes depending on the database license tier) on AWS without the need for additional configuration after launch.

Templates determine the storage type (local storage or EBS storage) and the database size per node for EBS storage. You select how much storage per instance in the template.

The following table lists the CloudFormation templates available on the AWS Marketplace for launching a Teradata Database instance without other Teradata products. These templates contain similar database configuration options to those in the Teradata ecosystem CloudFormation templates available through http://www.teradata.com/aws/getting-started/. To see a database deployment illustration of the AWS Marketplace templates, see Database Deployment Illustration.
