Teradata Ecosystem Overview

A Teradata ecosystem allows you to launch multiple Teradata software products simultaneously on AWS. It controls which applications get launched and configured together depending on the template you choose.

Teradata Database license tiers include the rights to use the software listed. Each tier is unique in what it offers in system concurrency and node limits, instance types that can be run, and the available database features. For more information, see Teradata Database License Tiers. For information on which database features are installed automatically in the Teradata ecosystem versus those requiring manual installation, see Teradata Database Features.

You initiate a Teradata ecosystem launch from http://www.teradata.com/aws/getting-started/, where you select from several options of multiple Teradata products. Each Teradata ecosystem option links to an AWS CloudFormation template hosted on Amazon S3.
Note:
You cannot launch a Teradata ecosystem directly from the AWS CloudFormation templates on the AWS Marketplace.
The following table indicates the software product links for each Teradata ecosystem on http://www.teradata.com/aws/getting-started/.

You cannot add or remove software products from a Teradata ecosystem. If the Teradata ecosystem does not include the software products you want, you can launch instances for those products separately, which may require additional configuration after launch. For more information, see Launching Teradata Components Separately.
